I’ve created a series of classes condensing my years of study into a few distinct 1.5 hour experiences including:
-Exploring Favorite Reds: This class dives straight in to professional tasting technique, geared toward paying attention to how each wine is distinct from the others. After discussing the varietals and what to taste for, participants divide in to groups and see if they can identify what 5 varietals are in each glass in front of them, without labels to help! Don’t worry, it’s not as daunting as you think, and I’m there to help along the way too. Choose from cabernet sauvignon, merlot, syrah, sangiovese, pinot noir, grenache, zinfandel, and more.
-Exploring Favorite Whites: Same as above, but with your choice of white varietals including chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, gruner veltliner, gewurztraminer, chenin blanc, riesling, pinot gris, and more.
Wine and Food Pairing ABC’s: Play with your food! I’ll not only be bringing wine to this class, but the food to mix and match as we go over the ABC’s (Acid/Tannin, Body style, and Chronology) of food and wine pairing.
Classes, well, yeah. I suppose technically they are, but mostly they are a fun ride through the meaningful parts of the world of wine. These sessions are entertaining first, full of interactive tastings, all settled around a solid foundation of wine knowledge without pretense.
Anyone who takes all three will be able to confidently order off a wine list, shop for wine at your local store, and choose a wine to go with just about any meal. Isn’t that really what wine enjoyment is all about?!
In addition to my signature series, I’ve also created customized classes for clients such as “Forgive Me For I Have Zinned”, “Sparkling Wine From Around the World”, and “Cabernet Cabaret”, among others. If you have a specialty topic you’d like to explore I can do the same for you.
For most functions I provide all the glassware, cutlery and plates, and whatever else necessary for the event to make set up and clean up a snap for the host.
